UPDATE fri10jun11 Thanks for the various contacts, we have chosen some initial PBX experts, and we will be working with them over the next couple of weeks to see what we can create together.
1. Executive Summary
As part of a program to deliver exciting new products to their range, London based DigitalMail.com is looking to build long-term relationships with enthusiastic PBX experts. The initial project will be to undertake a multi tenant PBX installation and deliver operations/user training. The first project will require 1-2 man days of expertise (offsite), further PBX projects will be part of the program in the coming months. DigitalMail.com is looking to start the project mon13jun11.
2. Project Background and Justification
PBX-P0 is part of an overall program, seeking to build a long term relationship with a product expert in VOIP PABX technology.
DigitalMail.com is a London based telco, who would like to add new products to their portfolio for a new venture, and would like to work with experts who are “Product Partners”.
The new venture focuses on bring FOSS to small businesses in a friendly and efficient manner.
3. Scope
This is the first step where we will try to work with the expert to:
- Get the PBX installed and working in our offices
- Have our operations team briefed, and comfortable with the PBX
- Get a general briefing from the expert
- Educate us so that we use the product in the right way
- Get a training agenda for users
- Advice on integrating with other systems
The PBX should:
- Be capable of multi-tenant
- Have a reasonable user interface
- General PBX features
- Be FOSS (we would be happy to sponsor developments)
4. Milestones and Deliverables
- Briefing done
- Install done (expert)
- = Install done (DML ops)
- = User Training session done (DML support and project management)
- Integration discussions
- Next steps
- Working PBX in office
- Working with timescales
- Good working relationship
- Happy users within the office (did the training, now confident with the system)
- Confident DML operations (they can run the install in adverse situation, reliably)
- Expert is pleased that DML are doing things to good practice
- Expert and DML look forward to the next stage!
5. Criteria of success

6. Timescale
We should like to have selected and agreed with the expert by start of week 24 (mon13jun11)
We would expect to do 2x 4 hour remote working sessions to complete this phase
7. Criteria for subcontractor selection
Enthusiasm for the product (we would like to do great things with it, would you like to part of that?)
References from satisfied clients with the PBX software
Enjoy educating people in their expertise
Good install capability
Clear idea on the training agenda
Understanding of the architecture, integration issues
Knows the product road-map
Fluent English

1-2 Man days, depending on how far things go
